Out of the Shell into Reality

My experience meeting with the local church has been simple, yet profound. My grandmother received care, from a group of compassionate young women in 1997. Their simple care for my family led me to inquire as to the nature of their association. Only after persistent questioning was the Lord revealed as the source of their consecration and the expression of the local church. At this time, I was invited to a local family's home where I enjoyed sincere prayer. In this simple way I discovered Christ as a person. I am free to enjoy the Lord as my Savior and as the reality of my daily Christian life. I am a person who knows the Lord as a real and living Person now.

I have often considered my experience of attending different worship services. I was always full of expectation and longing for a deep reality which to satisfy my human need. What I received, however, was just a hollow shell.

There is no passing of the plate for donations now, only the rich enjoyment of breaking bread in the oneness of Christ. I praise the Lord that He is expressed through believers on the earth today, and He has given me the privilege of experiencing the reality in truth.

John 4:24 says, “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truthfulness.” This verse has become my experience while meeting with the local church.
